In keeping with the Scottish Episcopal tradition, the Eucharist is celebrated every Sunday at 10.30am followed by coffee/tea in the Church Hall.
You will find a warm welcome and our worship is described as sacramental with charismatic elements and includes a range of different music styles to suit all.
There are special services on occasion including an annual Animal Blessing on or around St Francis Day. We are registered Sight Loss Friendly, welcoming canine companions and service dogs each week. We are also part of the Eco Congregation Scotland movement caring for and making good use of the resources at our disposal.
There are two Pastoral Assistants who are authorised to take communion to those who are housebound. This is an important part of the ministry of St Ninian’s.
Many members of the congregation are actively engaged in the worship, music, stewarding, reading, intercessions, prayers for healing as well as hospitality and welcome. There is a monthly Prayers for Healing Service to which all who wish to seek prayer and support for whatever reason are welcome.
We work collaboratively with Prestwick Council of Churches and with the other Scottish Episcopal Churches in the Ayrshire Region including many shared ecumenical activities throughout the year at Christmas, Holy Week and Easter and Remembrance Sunday.

The Scottish Episcopal Church has seven historic dioceses covering the whole of Scotland bearing witness to faith today, and tracing a history back to the earliest known Christians in Scotland. The Scottish Episcopal Church is part of the worldwide Anglican communion, which means those visiting from the Church of England, the Episcopal Church USA and other sister denominations across the world will feel very at home with our worship. What makes the Scottish Episcopal Church different?
The Scottish Episcopal Church:
- Is governed by bishops, one of whom is elected by the other bishops to be Primus of the Scottish Episcopal Church.
- Acknowledges the equal ministry of men and women.
- Has Communion (Eucharist) each week to which all baptised Christians are welcome.
- The Rector (known in other traditions as Minister or Vicar or Priest) usually wears robes. Lay Worship Leaders and Eucharistic Assistants at St Ninian’s do not robe. They do assist with leading worship and distributing the Eucharist.
- Believes in the interaction of Scripture, Reason and Tradition.
