Dear Friends in Christ,
As we embark on the Season of Lent, your Diocesan Environmental Group (DEG) wishes to share the following resources we have created for use during this season.
On our page, you will find Consider Creation inserts for your pew sheets or newsletters that can be shared with your congregation. We have taken the first Creation story from the book of Genesis and broken it down, day by day, to engage more deeply with our call to be stewards of the environment. The program can be engaged with in small groups, as a congregation, or individually. It has been designed to be scalable and to work with what you might already have planned for Lent.
Each week new, supplemental resources will be added to the DEG page on the Diocesan Website. The QR code and weblink on the inserts will direct users there. Supplemental resources to accompany the Ash Wednesday launch of the project will go live by Monday, 12 February. Subsequent weeks, resources will go live on the Sunday for each week.
Those who participate in the project are invited to share pictures from their walks, journaling, or other activities on Facebook and Instagram tagging the Diocese and using the hashtag: #ConsiderCreation. The Diocesan pages will share some of the insights to keep us all moving forward together.
As we take time away from the hustle and bustle of our world to grow closer with God and examine our lives in this season of Lent, we hope the Consider Creation resources will provide structure to ground you on this vital journey with Christ through Creation.
If you have any questions or feedback, do not hesitate to reach out to us.
Your friend on the Journey,
The Rev Canon Audrey O’Brien Stewart
Canon Missioner
