Bishop’s Lent Appeal 2026: The DAISY Project

The charity chosen for Bishop Nick’s Lent Appeal 2026 is the DAISY Project.

DAISY:
Supporting Women and Children to Heal from Domestic Abuse

Who We Are

DAISY is a domestic abuse support and advocacy service that has worked in Glasgow for over 25 years. We are a trusted, grassroots organisation providing safe, compassionate and community-based support to women and children affected by domestic abuse.

Our approach is flexible and relational. We meet families where they are and support them for as long as they need—often over many years.

What We Do

We support women and children through some of the most difficult moments of their lives, including:

• Safety planning and risk assessment
• Support with police reporting and court processes
• Help during homelessness and relocation
• Emotional and practical support through recovery

Our core services are funded by Glasgow Communities Fund and the National Lottery.

Why Donations Matter

Many families we support have experienced financial abuse and are left struggling to meet basic needs. Donations enable our recovery and crisis support, including:

• Emergency electricity, food and nappies
• Essential household items for families starting again
• Immediate help at moments of crisis

This support is often the difference between coping and crisis.

“Whenever things got to breaking point, DAISY was there. I was always welcomed back with open arms and support that made me and my family feel safe.”

Healing Through Hope and Community

Once families are safe, DAISY focuses on healing and resilience. Activities such as creative arts, gentle exercise and family days out help rebuild confidence and create positive memories.

“It was wonderful to see my child so proud and happy. A day to remember.”

How You Can Help

With the support of churches and faith communities, DAISY can continue to help women and children heal, recover and thrive within their local communities.

Your support offers hope, safety and dignity.
